- As our previous post discussed, smartphone apps, particularly for the iPhone, are becoming a hot area for healthcare organizations to explore. There are currently some 1400 available, with plenty more on the horizon. These apps may be out of mind for some professionals, but, with so many doctors using these devices, it may pay off to either incorporate some of them into your practice, or look into creating your own!
- Blogging – Websites that include a blog are visited 55% more than those without. Blogging isn’t taboo anymore; it is actually necessary in order to improve your content and overall ranking on search engines. Physicians and practices alike should be blogging on a regular basis, with the goal of at least 3 posts per week.
- Social Media – Consumers exposed to a brand in social media are 2.8 times more likely to search for that brand’s products or services. Consider your practice name as your brand. In order to maintain positive relationships with current patients, and bring in new ones, you have to make your brand relevant. Social media helps get you in front of people, and keeps your brand on the mind of your patients. With 26 million adults expected on Twitter in 2010, and over 350 million total users currently on Facebook, these are two great social media platforms for any practice to start with. Start Twittering and Facebooking today! If you need help getting set up, check out our step-by-step outlines for Twitter and Facebook.
- Twitter Tip – If you put “RT” or “Please RT” before an important post that you would like to spread, followers will be more likely to retweet your information. Try it for yourself!
