Happy holidays to you and yours! Here’s our weekly edition of Phyzoom’s Physician Practice Marketing Tips of the Week.
- Going off of our previous post about patients shopping for the best healthcare prices, physicians, especially in Ohio, should be aware of a new website from the Ohio Department of Health – Ohio Hospital Compare – that will provide extensive quality and pricing information from hospitals within the state. The site will show how much various procedures cost at each hospital, which the Ohio Association of Health Plans sees as a useful tool for patients. Ohio Hospital Compare will go live on January 1, 2010. You can read an article from The Columbus Dispatch on the site here.
- Make your social media pages interactive. Twitter and Facebook users love to click around and browse, so why not give them something to look at? Post interesting links or pictures from your practice showing visitors some of your staff, office or anything else you find interesting. The pictures will allow patients to get to know you, and will show them what to expect when heading into your office for an appointment. The more interactive your social media sites are, the more likely people are going to be to continue to view your pages.
- Content, content, content. The more quality content you have out there, the better your chances are to be found on search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing. Be on the lookout for healthcare-related news stories or tips, and make sure you are blogging at least three times a week!
